What appears in this log

The log covers changes that materially affect a maker's provenance, verification status, history, specifications, named personnel, manufacturing location or another factual conclusion. Routine spelling, grammar, formatting, broken-link and technical fixes are not normally listed.

A new source does not automatically create a correction. The entry appears when the published factual record changes.

Provenance Framework and maker classifications

The public methodology was renamed The British Bench Provenance Framework and its independent editorial scope was made explicit.

Change made
Public methodology, maker records and supporting pages now describe tiers as independent editorial provenance classifications based on identifiable evidence. They state that tiers are not legal country-of-origin determinations, certification of “British Made” status, approval, endorsement, compliance assessments or quality rankings. The former Standard HTML and PDF routes permanently redirect to the new Framework routes.
Basis
Project-wide governance rule editorial-provenance-not-legal-origin-v1, adopted after correspondence clarified the boundary between independent editorial provenance work and formal legal, advertising, consumer-protection and standards processes.

Maker Index and Provenance Records

The transitional directory review was completed and every current maker record moved onto Provenance Framework v0.2.

Change made
The directory now presents only the five Version 0.2 physical tiers and their evidence status. Seventeen current makers use published CMS decisions. Robert Loomes was archived from the current-maker directory after the Stamford workshop closed, and Zero West was published as Provisional Tier II across its three eligible current families.
Basis
A complete current-catalogue review under Version 0.2, the published operation-level evidence for each maker, and closure evidence for the former Robert Loomes workshop. The retired four-level labels were not mechanically converted into the new framework.
